Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) was a German philosopher, considered one of the greatest philosophers in Western philosoph , whose work has had a profound influence on both Western history and culture. 

Nietzsche wrote on subjects as diverse as art , philology , history , religion , science or tragedy. He made a critique of Western culture , religion and philosophy through the genealogy of the concepts that comprise them, based on the analysis of moral attitudes (positive and negative) towards life. 

Nietzsche pondered the consequences of the triumph of the secularism of the Enlightenment , expressed in his observation "God is dead" and in his idea of "ubermensch" who determines his own fate.
