Post-secular - meaning and definition

Post-secularism is a view that seeks to challenge secular interpretations and perceptions or the secularization process , and to point to areas of ambiguity and fluidity that challenge the rigid categories of religion and secularism. In addition, the post-secular view seeks to criticize secularism as an ideology and as a social phenomenon in the various contexts in which it appears and its attitude toward different groups in society.

While the post-secular critique is broad and ramified, common to all types of critique is a vote for secularism as a hegemony and a transparent category that has undergone rings (naturalization) and therefore its assumptions outline many social moves and production of knowledge unintentionally, and the claim that it is difficult to make a clear distinction between religion and Secularism, and that the attempt to apply these categories to society or to classify social manifestations according to them, is a problematic attempt that is incapable of containing many shades in Western culture , and especially in non-Western cultures. Another argument of the post-secular view is that there are many different types of religions and secularities which cannot be reconciled. In this way the post-secular view is greatly influenced by what is postmodernism and what is postcolonialism .
